Another round of the transcontinental paperwork game...I needed the original notarized labor statement AND original receipts, got just a copy of the labor. Worst case scenario I can now call the repairer directly.
I’m just considering registering the S2000 out of state, namely Vermont since there are no residency requirements. Has anyone done this before? is this a legal gray area or will I just get in more trouble if I’m ever pulled over?

Vermont has a yearly inspection requirement so you are going to have to come visit once a year.

Not for a reg he doesn’t. Nobody cares about another state’s safety inspection. If he doesn’t drive it in VT, he doesn’t need to inspect it in VT.

Is it 15 years old? If so, you can register it, but you won’t get a title issued. You’ll be stuck paying VT forever.

You might be right on that. I can’t find anything on what happens if your inspection expires in VT. I thought it would be like MA where your registration is suspended when your inspection expires.

As someone who has never done an inspection on time, I can assure you, know one cares until you get pulled over. And even then, only some of the time.

A buddy of mine did it for a scooter. He hasn’t been pulled over yet, so ....

I’m not NOT ok with that, rates are reasonable. (Provided it’s not a huge risk in another state)
This is the secret to vermont’s state funding. Damn you Bernie!!!

I mean....Bernie never really held a position for the state in the state......
The real secret is people high on leaf colors and crusty snow tend to overpay for everything.
